Usability Testing for a B2B Communications Platform
The Problem:
A business to business shipping and logistics company was having a hard time communicating with its business partners, due to an overload of communications. The high volume of automatic emails being sent by the company led to many of their business partners ignoring all communications. This meant that the company could not easily update partners on new programs, product offerings, or training information.
Our Process & Solution:
The logistics company hired us to create a communications platform built specifically for their business partners. After MVP was designed, I was brought on to run a series of usability tests and provide recommendations for improvement. Using an Invision prototype, I conducted 5 remote usability sessions with a variety of user types. During each session participants were asked to complete a series of tasks centered around the stakeholders key goals for the platform. After completing all of these steps, users were then asked to rate their experiences based on difficulty and provide additional feedback for the client. These sessions were then analyzed, using Airtable for notes and documentation, and used to provide quantitative and qualitative data for the product team.
